Pippi Longstocking Grows Up

Jan 18 2012

Annual party/dinner in a city where is near Shanghai. The company rented two/three shuttles to transport the whole office, last year was a half jet, but I somehow missed it.

I was expecting for something exciting. But it turned out just okay. The living condition is okay, no way to call it a 5 star hotel for its terrible taste on the lobby’s decoration, and the light of the bathroom is not user-friendly.  The team activity was okay, but the games we are forced to play are pointless.  The annual dinner was okay, I don’t even remember what we had that night. The after party was GREAT. See those pix!

I have a few more comments on the club where we had block-booking party. Why our organizer didn’t get rid of the DJs and the host of the club.   The cheesy dancing music almost killing me, and when I said I don’t drink alcohol I did mean it. The host acted like he doesn’t understand human language. I was bummed for a little while because of this.

Now, fun time is over.

It’s my breakfast yesterday. I had this for two… together with a bit of toasted white bread, a piece of cake coated with cheese( The waiter emphasized that the cheese is imported from “Switzerland”, who cares… as long as it tasted good.) smoked salmon and some cherries.
The morning enjoyment~

2012: May you live in interesting times. May you find what you’re looking for.
I promise there’s no irony in it.

It’s a hand writing card from a girl who only had a few times conversations with me, together with a gift. She brought it when she traveled in a beautiful, quiet seaside city, Xiamen.  Isn’t it nice? ^^ Someone whom you believe that you two are not that close, is actually think about you.
I just found out actually I’m quite popular among girls.  Is that true??? Girls be friend with you since you’re no threat to them in terms of attraction to male. If so….that explains a lot…

I met Chen Guangcheng at year 2006 in a workshop for Chinese grass root NGOs. He was called as a lawyer at that time, a shy and honest man. He was working hard to rescuer the rural women who are detained by the local government, for the reason that they are against one child policy.  However, I didn’t pay much attention on him because there were someone else seemed “cooler”-another human right activist. But he still earns my respect by dedicating himself to the business of grass root NGO and helping people in the most undeveloped areas without calling attention. One has to be mentally strong to do that job. (I had been wondered what’s his motivation. But my tutor said that I’m mundane and tend to over analyze that, which might strangle my passion towards life. I think he was right. )

Christian Bale on the other hand, is nothing but a western celebrity. As I’m a suspicious one, and according to the western “tradition” that one behaves like a human rights fighter in order to let people know that he/she has some sort of critical thinking ability or not that boring. I choose to wait for while to give him some credit.

Walking in the darkness

Shit happens. I have no one but myself. So take a deep breath and everything will be fine.

Pix of the week:

The Dad in the first pic is a Japanese. He was very friendly walking closer to me so I can take a look at his kid in the metro. I, however, have two questions: 1. How the mom keeps her figure after giving birth.( I know it’s way too early to worry about this but I’m curious about it. ) 2. Will the kid feel uncomfortable by carrying in this way?

Pic 2, when I passed by the Apple Store, the third one newly opened in Shanghai also as known as the biggest one in Asia. I saw nothing but over consumerism in a country where its per capita income is ranked at 109 among 176 countries in the world. How weird…

The last pic is the saddest one even I smile in it. Last week one of my mates asked me how old is the baby when I was happily enjoyed the donuts and I was like: ” What baby? ” She looked at my belly and said ” in there”…⊙o⊙…╯﹏╰  She didn’t mean anything serious, but I’ve been obsessed by her “joking” for the following days, spent long time to observe myself from different angels whenever there’s a mirror available. 囧 Since when I become so boring of caring about those crap…

The video has everything I want. A sunshine afternoon, a few friends to practice music with me, a room full of books or CDs. We will be served by tea or a bottle of wine after the practicing. No audience of course.  We will talk about the current incidents, new technologies, the fun and frustrations of our personal life, or gossip the new coming, hot intern and how soon she will hook up with the most promising young employee in the company. xD

My dream sounds so bourgeoisie(I understand the word, bourgeoisie, is out of data, but it’s special to me, I had been wondered about what’s the bourgeoisie life about when I read the book, “Gone With The Wind”.) I was more advantageous before…
